My family and other animals

(Not the Gerald Durrell book)

My family as probably every other family in Romania back in the communist years, were not allowed to go abroad on holiday, so staycation was the only option. We had resorts with thermal baths and springs, we had mountains, we had sea, we had the Danube Delta, Europe's largest and best-preserved river wetland where nature and wildlife is at his best.

I have a series of family photographs of me and my sister and other family members in such vacations, but often unfortunately posing with stuffed or dead or plastic animals, not live ones as one would expect given such a beauty of a country.

I’m not sure why romanians were keen on these must have holiday snaps for every child and family but it would be a fun little project to reimagine them in colour and a contemporary setting.
