Opposite Preston park in Brighton, you’ll find the Rock garden, or the Rockery, a Japanese inspired layout of terraced and layered bushes, flowers and trees connected by steps and bridges taking you from nook to another. There is also this pond with Koi carp and lilies and giant vegetation growing out of the water and mirrored by willow trees above. Its a really unique place to go and relax. One day I went there to paint plein air and it started to rain so I took some photos quick after packing up quickly and run. When I got to the studio there was this pair of converse in one of the photos when I zoomed in, so they had to deffinately stay in the final piece.
Acrylic and ink on canvas, framed
