Opposite Preston park in Brighton, you’ll find the Rock garden, or the Rockery, a Japanese inspired layout of terraced and layered bushes, flowers and trees connected by steps and bridges taking you from nook to another. There is also this pond with Koi carp and lilies and giant vegetation growing out of the water and mirrored by willow trees above. Its a really unique place to go and relax. Mirroring the converse scenario where a pair accidentally made into my hasty photos of the pond when I was packing up my painting gear to get out of the rain, here’s the sister scenario but with Vans.
Acrylic and ink on canvas, framed
60 × 80 cm
