Mandalin Street in Bodrum

£190.00

If you walk around Bodrum in Turkey naer the castle, you can stil see what attracted Mehmet Sönmez to paint there in the 60s and 70s. It was stil very much a fishing village and mostly untouched by the tourist tat you get there these days when you go on holiday. That’s what attracted me too and I went last year to look for the streets in his paintings and the Bodrum Blue, which is famous world wide. Happy to report I found some of them untouched, and have made some local plein air sketches and paintings which I later developed aided by photos on the studio.

Watercolour on khadi paper, framed

30 × 40 cm
