This is Kiki de Montparnasse, posing as a prostitute for Man Ray. Reimagined in colour from an old black and white photograph I found in Kiki’s Paris, a book that recreates life in the tumultuous world of 1900-1930 Montparnasse. Presenting photographs of legendary figures, among them the model Kiki, Modigliani, Picasso, Satie, Matisse, Leger, Gertrude Stein, James Joyce and Miro.
